Cell Phones Are Causing Thousands Of Injuries A…

New research suggests that smartphones are capable of inflicting bodily harm on users. An analysis published Thursday estimates that as many as 4,000 Americans suffer injuries related to cellphone use annually. These injuries range from bumps and bruises to more serious internal injuries sustained during motor vehicle accidents. "So many of these injuries happen because people are distracted". Boris Paskhover Study Co-author Researchers identified a total of 2,501people who sustained cellphone injuries to the head and neck in the oast 19 years. According to UPI, the highest percentage of these injuries, 41%, occurred in the home. Of the injuries, cuts or lacerations made up 26% of cases, and contusions or abrasions made up 25% of cases. Internal organ injuries made up just over 18% of cases.
