Zack Martin received the payday he's been holding out for.

The fifth-year guard signed a six-year contract extension with the Cowboys on Monday to become the highest-paid player at his position, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported, citing unidentified sources.

Rapoport noted Wednesday that the six-year deal is worth $84 million, with $40 million guaranteed.

Martin was set to enter the final year of his contract in 2018 and slated to earn a base salary of $9.3 million.

Earlier Monday, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said he was optimistic that a deal would be reached soon.

“It’s awfully close. I hope he’ll be out at (minicamp) tomorrow,” Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News.

Martin, 27, was selected by the Cowboys with the 16th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft and has been voted to the Pro Bowl each of his four seasons with Dallas.
