The shooting happened at 11:10 a.m. on the 5700 block of South Sangamon Street, said Chicago police spokeswoman Ana Pacheco. The 36-year-old man was on the street when a gray vehicle pulled up and someone from inside opened fire, Pacheco said.

The former Doobie Brother -- known for his husky baritone and hits like "What a Fool Believes" -- begins touring on Saturday, Nov. 29, with his holiday show, "This Christmas: An Evening of Holiday Hits." The concert will bring him to Waukegan's Genesee Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 14. "It gives us a chance to get out and play some of the Christmas music we've recorded over the years.
